BID's Quality Award to Reliance Energy, Ansaldo Energia and King Fahd Saudi Sea Ports in Paris

During the International Quality Convention held at the Palais des Congrès in Paris in April 2008, BID granted the International Quality Award to Reliance Energy, Ansaldo Energia and King Fahd Saudi Sea Ports. There were business people and companies from 62 countries, experts in Quality, technicians, engineers and investors.

Reliance Energy from India belongs to Reliance Group, one of the top private sector businesses in India with a market capitalization of US$ 81 billion. The owner of Reliance Group, the Ambani family, became the richest family in the world in October 2007, surpassing American billionaire Bill Gates and Mexican businessman Carlos Slim Helu. The Chief Engineer of Reliance, Dhananjy Deshpande, received the International Star for Leadership in Quality Award from BID's President Jose E. Prieto at BID’s Quality Convention in Paris.

Headquartered in Italy, Ansaldo Energia, from Algeria, is a leading supplier of components and services for power generation plants. Ansaldo Energia is part of Finmeccanica Sp.A., the largest aeronautical engineering and defense group in Italy and one of the top 10 in aerospace technology, security systems and electronic defense in the world. With more than 60,700 professionals, Finmeccanica's annual profits exceed US$ 13,000 million. The General Manager of Ansaldo Energia, Enrico Casini, received the International Star for Leadership in Quality Award in Paris from the President of Business Initiative Directions, José E. Prieto.


BID's International Star for Leadership Award to King Fahd Industrial Port - Jubail in Paris

King Fahd Industrial Port - Jubail is the largest seaport in the region and one of the most important ones in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With its 27 piers, KFIP-Jubail handled more than 40.3 million tons of cargo and 1,483 ships in 2007. The General Director of King Fahd Industrial Port - Jubail, Abdullah Nasser Altuwaijri, received the International Star for Leadership in Quality Award in Paris, from the President of Business Initiative Directions, Jose E. Prieto.
